The Missouri House of Representatives is the lower chamber of the Missouri General Assembly. It has 163 members, each representing an approximately equal amount of constituents. House members are elected for two-year terms during general elections held in even-numbered years. Members of the Missouri General Assembly are prohibited from serving more than eight years in either the state house of representatives or state senate, or a total of sixteen years, due to statutory term limits.
